Ford EcoSport 2012 Unveiled Globally From India–Specifications and Details

Ford today unveiled its much awaited Ford EcoSport 2012 compact SUV in New Delhi India on the evening of 4th January 2012. The Ford EcoSport 2012 will be displayed first time in any auto show in New Delhi at the Auto Expo 2012 starting on 5th January 2012. Its will be a huge attraction for the visitors of Auto Expo. The Ford EcoSport features compact form factor, high fuel efficiency, aerodynamic design, sleek looks and spacious interiors. The EcoSport will be commercially launched in India around Mid of 2012. The price of the EcoSport will be under Rs. 10 Lakh which will make it one of the stiff competitors with existing compact SUVs like Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari and the upcoming compact SUVs like the Renault Duster etc. The EcoSport has got the looks, space and power to attract the sedan buyers planning a large car under Rs. 10 Lakh budget.

Ford EcoSport 2012 Specifications and Features

The global model of Ford EcoSport 2012 is powered by a 1 Litre Turbocharged Direct Injection (GDI) 3 Cylinder Petrol Engine with a peak power of whooping 120 PS and peak torque of 170 Nm. The high power engine is very low on emission. The Ford EcoBoost Engines will make their Debut in India in the Ford EcoSport. Downsized EcoBoost engines feature turbocharging, direct injection and other technologies and replace larger engines with no loss of performance and with lower fuel consumption.

On the features list, we expect the EcoSport to be a great handling car, with safety features like ABS and EBD, Airbags. Comfort features like automatic air conditioning, Integrated audio system with steering mounted controls, power windows, alloy wheels etc. More details will emerge when the launch of the production version of Ford EcoSport takes place in India.
